We are pleased to inform you that the Romanian Society of Physical Medicine, Rehabilitation and Balneoclimatology (RSPMRB) has been established.

This approach, both repairing and constructive, appeared necessary only after the blockade – unfortunately both: from inside and sustainable * (read more) – of the traditional and unitary functioning (until 2013) society of our specialty, namely The Romanian Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (RSPMR), which this year would turn 94 years (!).

As such, as it is stipulated in the motivational-historical preamble of the RSPMRB Statute, it “is established from the objective need to achieve the re-unification and academically, at national level, of the activity related to the complex and important medical specialty: REHABILITATION, PHYSICAL MEDICINE AND BALNEOLOGY (RPMB), in accordance with its full / wide spectrum of professional-scientific coverage and at the same time, with the vision of the Specialized Consultative Commission of the Ministry of Health (n.n .: this Commission, in its current composition, managed, among other things, to return to the appropriate name of our specialty: RPMB, by Order of the Minister of Health No. 996/2015 – given that the main members and supporters of it and of our specialty, have consistently and effectively represented, at least for the last five years, the interests of colleagues in this field and thus all the beneficial elements obtained in this regard – and enshrined in the annual Framework Contracts and the Norms related to their application, aiming the professional-administrative-managerial relations with the health insurance system – it is due to their sustained and devoted activity!).

This is especially true in view of, on the one hand, the current priority concern of the World Health Organization (WHO) for preventing and combating/ recovering deficits in human functioning, disabilities/ infirmities and, respectively, the remarkable heritage of natural sanogenic physical/ chemical factors, together with the prestigious profile school – including balnear, of well-known tradition – of Romania and on the other hand, the unfortunate artificial dysfunction, starting from 2013, of the Romanian Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (acronym: RSPMR). Thus, RSPMRB aims including to reconsider the emerging-repair of the RSPMR ‘brand’, also targeting at further developments, at even higher standards and levels. ”

Exactly in the constructive and prone spirit for professional-academic performance – stated also in the last quoted sentence from the preamble of the RSPMR Statute, mentioned above – stands the remarkable achievement of a team of renowned RPMB specialists who, after obtaining the honorable investment, by The leadership of the International Society of Medical Hydrology and Climatology (ISMH), of the Romanian Balneology Association (ARB) as organizer and host of the 41st World Congress of ISMH, also managed the accept that this extremely prestigious international academic event should take place in conjunction – having as co-organizer and host the RSPMRB – with the Congress of this new and at the same time traditional Society, thus implicitly confirming the appreciation for the valuable Romanian paradigm of the specialty unit: Physical Medicine, Rehabilitation and Balneology (details at: www.bioclima.ro and in the media).
